Biosphere Reserves Institute

The #BiosphereShare Youtube channel was initiated in November 2020 by the Centre for Econics and Ecosystem Management of the Eberswalde University of Applied Sciences as part of the DAAD-funded program “University Dialogue Western Balkans”. In close cooperation with partners and actors of the biosphere.center it was further developed and enriched with regard to technical knowledge and work experience in connection with the MAB program of UNESCO and its biosphere reserves. The channel includes these video playlists:

EXPLANATORY VIDEOS

This series of PPPs with experts’ audio commentary provides basic knowledge about the origin and founding of the UNESCO MAB programme, about Biosphere Reserves governance and coordination, zoning schemes, ecosystem-based management as well as about their three functions: conservation, development and logistic support.

PROJECT RELATED VIDEOS

Project related videos were produced in the process of several ongoing and past projects of the biosphere.center partners. In this series of videos selected projects present themselves. They report about experiences, good practices as well as challenges made during implementation.

BIOSPHERE RESERVE PORTRAITS

The playlist ‘Film Portraits’ brings together particularly successful documentaries and image films of biosphere reserves that belong to Germany’s Nationale Naturlandschaften e.V. or were made by partners of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
