TRANSECTS, Canada, South Africa & Germany
(2022 - 2028)
TRANSECTS is a six-year research training partnership and the main aim is to train professionals, students and practitioners in transdisciplinary research and intercultural skills to collaboratively address sustainability challenges. TRANSECTS is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Canada.
We are an international community of practice that embraces learning in multiple forms across diverse groups. Our international, socially and culturally diverse team includes researchers and emerging scholars, local and Indigenous leaders, First Nations, experts in sustainability practice, UNESCO Biosphere Region practitioners, governing agencies, international networks, and private and civil society organizations and foundations. More specifically, scholars come from the University of Saskatchewan and Vancouver Island University (Canada), Rhodes University and University of Cape Town (South Africa) and Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (Germany).
